Former Indianapolis winner Bobby Rahal has acquired a Ferrari 250GT SWB to compete in historic events this season, including the Goodwood Revival. The American bought the car in place of his recently sold Porsche 917.

The Connaught streamliner which won its class in the 1955 Goodwood Nine Hours is set for a full season of racing in 2004. The ASLR, one of two 1.5-litre sportscars built around lengthened A-type grand prix chassis, has been bought by former Chevron B19 racer Stephen Gibson.

FIA thoroughbred Grand Prix champion Mike Wrigley is to race Down Under this winter in the two-round Tasman Revival F5000 series. He has shipped his Lola T330 to New Zealand for the races at Ruapuna and Teretonga, along with the Lola T332 and McLaren M18 of Frank and Judy Lyons.

A wave of new IMSA GTP cars are to boost the Group C-GTP Racing grid this year: American Brian DeVries is bringing his 1991 Intrepid-Chevrolet to Europe, while Nick Randle has added a second Nissan NPT90 to his stable. A March-Chevrolet 84G is also expected, driven by Peter Schleifler.
