Nicola Foulston has resigned from her position as the Chief Executive of Brands Hatch Leisure PLC and also from the board of Octagon, the American-owned company which bought BHL late last year.

The official line from both BHL and Octagon is that Foulston has quit for “personal and family reasons” following a four week sabbatical over the Christmas period in which she was to consider her position.

Nevertheless, the news has taken the motorsports industry by surprise. Octagon, however, has made the point that Foulston’s job of late was predominantly involved with the public company which it describes as “a role which is obviously no longer required.”

Foulston has been replaced by Rob Bain who joined BHL in March 1998 as Group Finance Director.

It is not yet clear what, if any, further ramifications will result from Foulston’s departure but it is understood that BHI2s quest to host the British Grand Prix is unaffected. AF
