Brands Plans 500CC Celebration

Brands Hatch is planning to host a special race for 500cc cars this season to mark the 50th Anniversary of the birth of the International Formula Three class, from which emerged such stars as Stirling Moss, not to mention Britain’s racing car industry. July 22-23 has been provisionally pencilled in alas the same weekend as the Coys Festival but the BRSCC has yet to finalise details with the 500 Owners’ Association. “It’s a tremendous idea because the Half-Litre Club, the original 500cc movement, evolved into the BRSCC,” said the 500 OA’s Richard Neale.
