A Grand Prix in the USA is more or less a necessity to Formula One if it is to be considered a true world championship. Of the many candidates as a replacement for Detroit, Phoenix, Arizona, won the day with its 2.2 mile street circuit and has signed a five-year deal with the FIA the organisers of Formula One.

Activity and entertainment in Phoenix and the surrounding area is extensive to say the least. The city has all the night clubs, theatres and bars that you would expect of such a large city. The bars mostly have a western flavour.

We are offering two holidays to the US Grand Prix. You can stay in Phoenix or take our longer American West holiday taking in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

San Francisco is cultured and sophisticated, with a mild climate. Situated on its famous hills, there are several panoramic viewpoints around the city looking over the mix of sky-scrapers and Victorian town-houses.

Los Angeles is Southern California’s adventure playground its focal point being the Magic Kingdom Disneyland® Close by is the wild west theme park Knotts Berry Farm and you can visit Universal Studios or even San Diego.

Whether you tour the west or just take in Phoenix, you are still just a short hop in a small plane from the Grand Canyon one of the seven natural wonders of the world.
