MG Tickford

Those who were swept off their feet by the original Tickford Metro, but could not bring themselves to spend nearly £12,000 on one, have recently been offered an alternative: the MG Tickford. Based on a standard MG Metro or Turbo Metro, the car looks similar externally, but is less lavishly trimmed, saving over £4,000 on the top version. The £2,352 conversion charge brings the cost of a fully taxed new car to £7,505, which includes the body modifications, a new leather dash, electric windows and a sunroof.

Since the car is built to order, a customer can specify higher levels of trim if required. The work is carried out by Aston Martin’s coachbuilding subsidiary, Tickford, and distribution is handled by Aston’s sales section, adding extra cachet for prospective clients.
