Tricentrol RAC British Saloon Car Championship
For the fourth consecutive year the Tricentrol Car Group is to sponsor the RAC British Saloon Car Championship and has contracted to do so until 1982.
The ten-race series will have improved prize money (to £1,500 per round), revised regulations to put an end to the petty wranglings of recent years and an increase in the upper capacity limit to 3,500 c.c., which will let in the Rover 3500. Although officially 3,528 c.c., the Rover will eligible by virtue of production tolerances, though we gather that all future production engines may be kept below the limit.
The first race will be at Oulton Park on March 23rd and the series includes a round at the British Grand Prix.
