A Rare Sunbeam

In connection with your articles on Sunbeam racing cars perhaps the enclosed photo will be of interest?

I came across this car, claimed to be a 1918 Sunbeam, in a Bronx, NY car-park, in the fall of 1953. The owner/operator of the car-park, whose name I fail to recall, said he was an ex-race-driver. Could this be the Sunbeam that raced at Indy? You will notice that it has rear mudguards and that the body seems a bit narrow for the chassis. Perhaps one of your readers can supply additional information.
