An unusual VW

Perhaps you will be interested in the enclosed photograph. As you can see, it is of a Volkswagen tourer, 4-door, age unknown, mileage unknown.

It appears to have been built as a hunting car; certainly it did many hard years as a police car in Germany. The body is by Papler of Cologne.

The car was found on a dump in Dusseldorf. As to be expected, it goes very well. The hub caps come from Brazil; they are thief-proof, as they fit between the brake drum and the wheel.

Does any reader have information about this type of Volkswagen?
