The Deemster

Sir,

I joined the Deemster Company as assistant to the Sales Manager, R. Pivray, in September 1919 and was with them till they closed down, February 1924, and that is another story why they closed down. Alf Noble, of A.C. fame, joined the firm later to the end. Mr. Hester as Works Manager came in to speed up production.

The first post-war Deemster was a most reliable little car, and, some years after the closure of the firm, I met a purchaser of the earliest production and he had just had a rebore and a new crown-wheel and pinion after covering 245,000 miles.

I am now 73 years old but my memories of my associations with the firm and all connected with it are most vivid. I enclose a photograph of the actual model as on the stand at the 1919 Motor Show.

S. Coulson – Bridgwater.
