Those readers who collect car miniatures to amuse their children (or themselves!) will be interested in the very small Wiking replicas of Mercedes-Benz 300SL, 300 and 190, Borgward, Opel, VW convertible and Jaguar XK120 open sports model. Most of these are less than 2 in. long by I4/5 in. wide, the longest being under 2¼ in., yet they are nicely detailed, with revolving wheels, and pressed-out crankcase, prop.-shaft and back-axle casings. The price is 1s. 6d. each and for embellishing model road scenes packets of very realistic pedestrians (plus dog and pram!) are available at 2s. a packet. These German miniatures are obtainable from Bradshaw Model Products, Ltd., 40, Waterloo Road, Hove 2, Sussex, who tell us that the far larger Revell plastic kits now cover a very elaborate Ford Fairlane Sunliner, complete with V8 engine details, for 9s. 6d. Suitable cement and paints are also available.
