MALCOLM CAMPBELL TROPHY

From a collection of trophies won during his lifetime by the late Sir Malcolm Clunpbell the Royal Automobile Club last year accepted from his son, Mr. Donald Campbell, a very handsome Team Trophy which was competed for in the Irish International Grand Prix, Staged in June, 1930, at Phoenix Patk, Dublin. The whiners of this event were the then Captain Malcolm Campbell, Earl Howe, and R. Caracciola, all driving Mercedes cars.

This trophy is to be known as the Sir Malcolm Campbell Memorial Trophy, and is for perpetual competition. It will be awarded to the Brit ish competitor making i lie most_ outstanding performance driving a British car in any form of motor competition during the calendar year.

The Royal Automobile Club last week awarded this trophy for 1950 to Mr. Ian Appleyard, who drove an XI< 120 Jaguar through the French International Alpine Rally without loss of marks, making the best performanee in the event.
