B.A.R.C. Dinner.

The committee of the B.A.R.C. have decided to hold a club dinner and dance in London on Monday, February 10th. The president of the club, the Earl of Lonsdale, will preside, and during the course of the evening the testimonial to Col. F. Lindsay Lloyd, the retired clerk of the course, will be presented.

It has been decided this year to arrange for lady guests at the Dinner, and it is anticipated that the price per ticket will be 15s.

B.R.C.C. Dinner.

The annual dinner and dance of the British Racing Drivers’ Club will take place at the Park Lane Hotel, Piccadilly, London, on February 7th, dinner being served at 7.30 p.m. and dancing continuing until 2 a.m. Lord Howe will preside. Tickets have been limited to avoid overcrowding, and should be applied for at once —price £1 each, exclusive of wines. Tables may be reserved for parties of not less than six.

Croydon M.C.

The club, although only formed in November, has already a large membership and promises many exceptionally interesting events for 1930. A very enthusiastic committee is working hard for the benefit of members. The secretary and members are very honoured and pleased at having received letters from Major Sir Henry Segrave and Capt. Malcolm Campbell in which warm wishes for the success of the club are given.

The secretary and treasurer are both visiting the Isle of Man to see the T.T. races in June, and have opened a slate club into which members intending to accompany them can pay what they wish each week. Particulars may be obtained from headquarters.

Provisional results of the Graham-Walker Trial have now been announced as under :

Graham Walker Challenge Trophy (for the best all-round performance) and Marine Gardens Speedway Challenge Trophy (for the best performance by a regular dirt-track rider) : R. McGregor (Rudge).

Latimer Challenge Trophy (for second best all-round performance) and Angus Challenge Trophy (for fastest time, irrespective of performance) : S. Reid (Velocette).

Nelson Challenge Trophy (for best performance on observed sections) : A. D. Stewart (B.S.A.).

Rudge-Whitworth M.C.C. Award (best member) : J. Beck, Junr. (Sunbeam).

MacDougall Team Award : Edinburgh and District M.C.

First-class awards, in addition to those winning cup awards, as above : J. C. Edwards (Douglas).

Second-class awards : J. McArthur (Dunelt), A. Moir (Arid), G. Simpson (Ariel), W. L. Steward (S.O.S.) and S. Gargan (Sunbeam).

At the annual general meeting a very satisfactory report was presented, and the election of officers resulted as follows :—President : Mr. D. Lambert. Hon. Secretary : Mr.. P. King. Hon. Assistant Secretary : Mr. T. Jarron. Hon. Treasurer : Mr. W. S. Griggs. Committee : Messrs. D. Lambert, F. King, T. Jarron, W. S. Griggs, R. S. Cook, L. A. Burke and J. M. Garry.

A most ambitious programme is contemplated for this year. The club is affiliated to the A-C.U. (NorthEastern Centre) and caters for the social and sporting rider. Motorists in the district desirous of becoming members can have full particulars from the Hon. Secretary, Mr. F. King, 23, Newton Street, Dunston-onTyne. The annual subscription is 6s. 6d.

Ulster A.S.C.

At the annual general meeting of the Ulster Automobile Sports Club Capt. R. L. Henderson was re-elected president and an enthusiastic and energetic band of officials was gathered together for the coming season. The Hon. Secretary is now Mr. R. M’Cann, J.P.

Future Fixtures.

News has now come to hand regarding the dates of a number of important events for the coming season.

These include sand race meetings at Southport, the first on 22nd March and the second on 26th April. Then there is the Land’s-End Run on 18th and 19th April. The Irish Grand Prix will be held on July 18th and 19th and the great Indianapolis Grand Prix, for which a big entry is expected, will be run on 30th May.
