The Editor, THE BROOKLANDS GAzETTE.

DEAR SIR,

I read through the copy of your November issue, and must say that I found it quite interesting, if only because it is a little different from the usual run of motoring publications. Of course, I quite appreciate that, being, in a manner of speaking, a “baby,” it will take some time to become established, but I feel sure that, if kept going upon its present lines, with a few minor improvements, it will in time take its place as a ” regular.”

According to my view of these things, you are doing a wise thing in cultivating the Country Clubs and I should imagine that in that way you are going to obtain the faithful adherence of Club men in general, all of whom are willing to buy the paper which takes a real interest in their doings, especially if they realise that reports of their own club’s activities will appear therein as a general and regular thing, instead of, as so frequently happens, only occasionally, when some special event has occurred.

I was glad to note that both cars and motor cycles receive a fair share of attention, and I hope that instructive articles, written in such a way that they can readily be understood by the not too technically endowed reader, will in time become a regular feature. I think articles about fuels and dopes would be interesting, as well as descriptions of various carburettors, both those types which are standard, and also the models which are specially adapted for racing purposes.

In your articles on Motoring Sportsmen, do not overlook the lesser lights. The mistake is often made of giving publicity only to the cracks, while lookers on at the various events are perfectly well aware that it is many a time the case that an outsider puts up quite as good a performance as the big trade expert without however his work getting the attention which it really deserves. Yours faithfully,

Stalybridge. B. WATTS.
