Full-throttle tribute to Stirling Moss at Goodwood SpeedWeek

Goodwood SpeedWeek celebrated the life of Stirling Moss with tributes from drivers ahead of the inaugural Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy.
At the circuit that played such a key role in Moss’ career, Mark Knopfler gave a rendition of Going Home and the Duke of Richmond & Gordon spoke of “a life lived to the absolute full” prior to the run.
The race, previously known as the Kinrara Trophy, was a fitting tribute with hard-fought battles for the lead between Jaguar E-types.
Earlier in the festival, Jackie Stewart drove the circuit in the same Lotus 18 that Moss had used to fend off the Ferraris and win the 1961 Monaco Grand Prix.
“I got Stirling’s autograph here, when I think I was 14,” said Stewart. “It was a lovely car and a great privilege.”
