Reynolds takes title

Julian Reynolds and codriver Patrick Walsh secured the British Historic Rally Championship title on the Colin McRae Stages after a stunning campaign in their Ford Escort Mkl.

“It was great to win it on a rally run in Colin’s memory,” said the Welshman, who was a contemporary of Richard Burns in the Peugeot Challenge. Although his pace has never been in doubt, budget constraints mean that Reynolds has rarely been able to mount a title challenge. “I’ve always had to do one rally at a time, but this year I said I’d do it and we did. It was a big commitment and everything went our way.”
