Second MG series for 2012
An additional series of races has been announced for 2012 to mark the 50th anniversary of the MGB.
Following on from the MG Car Club’s plans to celebrate the model, the Historic Racing Drivers Club will also run an MG 50th series of races, starting at Castle Combe on Easter Monday, April 9.
HRDC founder Julius Thurgood unveiled his plan following an approach from veteran MGB racer Barry Sidery-Smith. The HRDC plans 30-minute, one-driver races for FIA-Appendix K spec MGBs, with a class for historically interesting MGB race cars. Entries will include Sidery-Smith in his ex-works Le Mans MGB.
