The French PM Organisation, promoter of the Grand Prix Historique at Dijon-Prenois, has announced two additional historic race meetings for 2004. A second event will be held at Dijon in mid-July to complement the FIA meeting in late September, while Magny-Cours will be used over the weekend of April 24-25.

Alan Minshaw, boss of the Demon Tweeks organisation, will contest the David Piper Tour of South Africa in January and February. He will race the Mustang that his son Jason last used in the ICS Historic Touring Car Championship several years ago.

The Volkswagen Group has appointed Thomas Bscher as the president of its Bugatti Automobiles `supercar’ division. Bscher has raced extensively in historic and classic cars as well as winning the BPR Global GT tide in 1995. He owns and races a number of Maseratis, including a 250F and a 450S.

Frank Tiedeman has been handed the 750 MC’s Driver of the Year award for his achievements in a 53-year career. His first race was at Silverstone in 1950, in the same Austin 7 Ulster that he raced this year to third in the Triple Challenge.
