The name English Racing Automobiles could be seen back on track next season if the plans of Jim Dudley are realised.

Dudley, the owner of Tiger Sportscars, has acquired the famous motor-racing name and hopes to use it to promote an all-new single-seater built in the style of an early 1960s Formula One machine.

The spaceframe device, powered by a Ford Zetec four-cylinder engine, will be available as a complete package for approximately £23k, or as a self-assembly kit, and a one-make race series has been mooted.

• Revival Motorsport has unveiled a UK-based championship for its XK-powered Jaguar D-type replicas. To be run on an ‘arrive and drive’ basis, the 16-race campaign is priced at £35k, and is aimed at syndicates and corporate users, as well as individual drivers.
