Bob Anderson
Sir,
It was very gratifying, after 35 years of silence, to learn a little about the circumstances of my brother’s death. I feel this was a very fair-minded and balanced account of what happened.
There is one thing your article failed to emphasise: in spite of a posh accent and abrasive manner (both of which I share with Robert), the most remarkable thing about my brother’s driving career was that he financed the whole process out of very limited sponsorship and prize money.
I am very curious to know what happened to the fund set up in his memory in order to finance better medical facilities at the track. The lack of these facilities was certainly a contributing factor to his demise and I have searched vainly for the history of the fund without success. Can you help?
I am, Yours etc,
