Pre-72 carburetted V8 cars will be eligible to race against Fl and F2 machinery in the Classic GP meetings, and against later fuel-injected machines like the 3.4-litre Cosworth GA V6 in the F5000-only races. The Force’s David McLaughlin hopes that the Transatlantic Challenge events may attract competitors from the USA where the monsters

compete in the Monoposto Racing group’s Formula 70s series. “Overcapacity, over-tyred and over here’ is the philosophy,” says McLaughlin.
