Ferrari is coming back strongly in F1, applauded by many Grand Prix followers. Alan Henry, who covers F1 racing for Autocar and The Guardian, has built up a reputation of writing from the inside, after seeing the action at close range and being friends with the top drivers. He is the writer to tell us how the Maranello marque has been fighting for survival and is, hopefully, returning its driver to the podium. The first volume, covering the period 1945-1970, is now available from Motor Racing Publications of Croydon for £19.95, and a second volume. to 1997, is due in January. Heavy going — but researchers survive that. W B
