Anew hillclimb and a new circuit boosted the sixth Manx Classic meeting to four days, and brought increased entries and spectators to the island to see cars from the ’30s to the ’60s tackle the Willaston Pursuit Sprint and the dramatic Sloc-climb. And for the first time, circuit racing featured at the 1½-mile Jurby track, where Bruce Spollon’s ERA bested that of Fred Tidball after a penalty for missing the chicane. G C
