WB is here

I note a little trick in The Spectator of explaining a temporary change of writer of a particular feature article by putting at the end of it a note, “Martin Harris is away” for instance. (One wonders why, and where). No need to say “WB is away”; I had my last holiday in 1938 (in an A7) and have driven a pen or a typewriter almost every day before and since, Sundays and the eve of my wedding included… Joking, of course?
