Perhaps your readers may be able to help me in tracing the history of my recently acquired Denmark special. So far, I have gathered the following information which I believe lobe correct. The car is one of a pair built by R. Watling Greenwood just after 1935. These were based on a Morris eight chassis utilising most of the Morris parts but

with a Ford engine. The bodywork is all aluminium with a startlingly long tail piece. The nose cone I befieve has had some recent modification to the original design). These cars were known as RWG Historic Racing cars. In 1946. two brothers Denis and Mark Deere or Beare?) bought one of the cars, used part of each of their Christian names and tenanted the cur the Denmark. It was subsequently raced: where and to what extent and how successfully I have yet to find out except it crops up at the Brighton Speed Trials in Octo.r. 1954 where it is listed at 38.26 secs.. when driven by D. A Beare. The other car was raced by R. Watling Greenwood himself and also won class records at the Brighton Speed Trials. Extracts on this event show the following information regarding the course run in 1949 at 43.411 secs.: 1’050 at 37.(i5 secs.; 1951 at 37.80 secs. Class 2nd place, 1952 at 35.50 1st place — New Class record, 1953 at 34.89 1st place, 1954 at 35.61 01st place I also enclose a copy of an extract from tIto September. 1954 issue of MOTOR Sl’ORT showing R. Watling Greenwood winning the 1954 Brooldands Memorial Trophy.
