F2 ROUND-UP
Vallelunga Formula Two –Vittorio Brambilla, pictured left leading the works March-BMW of Michel Leclere, took victory in the final round of the European Championship in Rome. The regular works March 752 models of Leclere and Tambay crashed, leaving Jacques Laffite to take second place in the Martini. Below Tambay leads the Elf 2 of Gerard Larrousse which started from the back of the grid and came up to sixth place. The Italians Giorgio Francia (Osella) and Maurizio Flammini (March) had a good tussle (bottom left), until Francia blew his engine, leaving Flammini to take third overall. The works Chevron-BMW, driven by Hans Binder, opted for wet tyres on the damp track and never featured.
