SCHOOLBOY’S VIEW OF THE

Sir,

As a schoolboy I show a keen interest in motor sport and racing of any sort, and as a regular reader of Almon firmer I am a keen follower of its articles and correspondence. In the October issue there was a very

interesting article called ” at Monza,” by an unknown writer, whirls I read wills great interest., and, it’ I may say so, I have never read such a clear, concise. truthful and to the point article on this controversial car.

Can the heads of this amazing concern take a lesson front Monza ? Can they also take a lesson from the cool clockwork precision of the German Mercedes team before the war ? And can they honestly assure the Italians that that black van with the silver line round isn’t a hearse, but a van carrying a world-beating racing car ?

Britain has the drivers, Moss, Parnell and Gerard are good examples, and there are many others of equally good quality, and they have mechanics slaving day and night, but there’s 8011)kt-hit* wrong, radically wrong, with the management. Get this right and something might happen. I understand that the Formula for G.I’. racing is to be altered shortly. [For 1954.–ED.]

Let this be a warning to you, B.R.M. Make those ears world beaters and make them world beaters quickly, before you start mucking about, blocking off banks of cylinders ! The public are losing faith in you and if you don’t do it quickly,

never do it at all. I am, Yours, etc.,

J. BruAN Em4s. Winscombe.
