Simplifying Maintenance.

SIR,—In a letter to the Press a London motorist asks for cars which will simplify maintenance as well as driving. Surely he is barking up the wrong tree ? To the ordinary motorist a car that is easy to drive appeals much more than one that is easy to look after. With over 2,000 lubrequipment service stations now in operation throughout the country, anyone who bathes in oil in his own garage at home is merely wasting time. Mechanised lubrication will do the job in a fraction of the time and do it better.

As he himself points out, the modern “easy drive” car, from the very complexity of its design, needs more looking after, and for that very reason motorists are more and more having their cars maintained by experts. In America private maintanance is a thing of the past, and very soon it will be the same here. I am, yours, etc., F. LUCAS. Piccadilly Circus Garage, Ltd., Denman Street,

London, W.1.
