Lacey’s Montlhery Performance.

The speed and reliability of the modern motorcycle were demonstrated in an amazing way at the Montlhery track, near Paris, during the period of the Motor Cycle Show. Riding a 4.90 h.p. Norton, C. W. G. Lacey broke four long-distance world’s records, each at over 100 miles per hour.

The most outstanding of these, perhaps, were the 200 miles record at 104.17 m.p.h. and the three hours record at 102.17 m.p.h. This is the first time that any motorcycle, regardless of engine capacity, has covered 300 miles in less than three hours.
