● Looking for a motor with stellar credentials? A 1950 Jaguar XK120 alloy roadster, above, on sale at LEGENDS in Bicester, £POA, was formerly owned by Weeks film producer Antony Rufus-Isaacs and Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour.

The latter gave the car a restoration in the 1990s and it’s been well-maintained since. This lightweight left-hander was one of just 240 alloy-bodied XK120s.

● Also in the £POA gang is a 1947 Maserati A6GCS ‘Monofaro’ (‘single headlight’), below, with links to Juan Manuel Fangio. The engine and gearbox of the two-seater at Classic Motor Hub in Gloucestershire are from chassis 2010, raced by El Maestro in the F2 Rome GP in 1949. 2010’s engine and gearbox were removed in the ’50s and later added to a replica chassis and body.

● Classic car insurer Footman James’s 2022 Indicator Report suggests the classic industry needs to attract younger, more diverse groups. Only 35% of those aged 26-41 would consider owning a classic and 9% of the insurer’s clients are female. “We’re deemed as old-school as our cars,” said Footman James MD David Bond. “We must become more inclusive and welcoming to the new era of the classic community.”

● There are 15,230 supercars on UK roads and 10,695 of those are Ferraris, says accountancy company UHY Hacker Young. Westminster tops the list of flash boroughs, with 523 registered there. Average supercar price? £770,000.

● Worried about buying into electric? The AA reveals that less than 4% of breakdowns are EVs that have run out of charge. “Don’t get hung up about range anxiety,” said AA president Edmund King.
