Kent buy me love
I thought I’d take the time to say what a good time I had watching the DTM at Brands Hatch in May, a thoroughly fantastic series in a wonderful setting. The price was a fraction of what I’d expected to pay to see a top-class competitive series, something Bernie and the Fl crowd should heed. The pit walk on race day was brilliant — no one took umbrage with me leaning under barriers to take photos — and the standard of racing was excellent. In particular, the new Formula 4 produced some cracking wheel-to-wheel action. Perhaps the best part of the whole day was the lack of overly ambitious security types eager to push their weight around. Only the Indy circuit was in use. The rest of the track was used for the storage of trailers and no one seemed to mind me and my friend taking a wander in that direction to get a close-up view of Dingle Dell. Everything seemed to be done on trust, in the belief that fans would behave, something I find thoroughly refreshing these days. Ed Worthington, Cardiff, Glam
