Strong field for Mille Miglia
Strong field for Mille gli a
The latest retro Mille Miglia was hailed a huge success after over 350 historic cars retraced the famous race route from Brescia to Rome and back again.
While Giordano Mozzi and Stefania Biacca won the regularity event aboard a 1933 Aston Martin Le Mans, the main attraction was the diversity of cars entered.
Spectators lining the route were treated to everything from a rumbling 1956 Ford Thunderbird to a tiny 1954 Citroen 2CV. A Rover 75 P4 was an unusual entry, while half a dozen rare Fiat 8Vs and two deceptively fast 1931 Talbot 105s enriched the mix. Also entered was a dainty Amilcar CGSS, a major contrast to the shriek of a Mercedes SSK.
Nowadays the line-up includes a modern sports car parade, which this year paid tribute to Ferrari with a 1992 512TR, a 2010 458 Italia and a 2002 575M Maranello.
