Panoz eyes 24 Hrs with new supercar
US car maker Panoz has launched a revolutionary road car with which it aims to take on Porsche, Ferrari and Chevrolet at Le Mans in 2011.
The new Panoz Abruzzi Spirit of Le Mans is a very low-volume supercar which will be homologated in GT2, possibly in time to make its debut at Petit Le Mans in August. The front-engined car, powered by a supercharged General Motors-based V8 in road trim, incorporates a number of advanced technologies. These include the Panoz-developed ‘Trifecta’ cooling system that marque boss Don Panoz says will banish the straightline speed problems in previous Panoz prototypes and GTs.
