Mygale ends Dallara's reign
The French racing car constructor Mygale has broken Dallara’s stranglehold on the British Formula 3 Championship.
Two wins for the Mygale M-08 design at Snetterton in June were the first for a car other than one of the dominant Italian machines in nearly three years. Irishman Michael Devaney took the first non-Dallara F3 victories in Britain since September 2005 aboard one of Ultimate Motorsport’s Mygale-Mercedes. Lola broke the Dallara hegemony with four wins in 2004-05, the first time the constructor had been beaten in Britain since the mass switch to its cars in 1993.
Devaney may have opened a successful chapter for Mygale in Britain in the same way that his father closed one for another constructor. Bernard Devaney was the last driver to win a British F3 race in a Chevron in 1979.
