Monterey to celebrate Ford

A century of Ford is one of the major features of the 30th annual Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races on August 16/17.

The swooping Laguna Seca track in California will play host to almost 400 historic and classic racing cars during the biggest historic racing event in North America.

On display will be the famous ‘999’ Ford racer from 1902 as well as Le Mans-winning Ford GT4Os and a number of Ford-powered grand prix cars.

The all-star 14-race programme will span six decades, from the pre-1931 Sports Touring Cars through to the pre-1981 Groups 4/5/6 and IMSA race.

The headline single-seater race will cater for 1957-65 Formula One, Formula Two and Formula Junior machines.
