European Historic Grand Prix: Zolder

The biggest event of the season at Zolder marked the 40th anniversary of Belgium’s ‘other’ racetrack.

The undoubted star of the show was Mike Littlewood, who won both FORCE Classic GP races in his Wolf WR1 despite starting the second race from the pitlane when overheating concerns struck.

Professional sportscar racer Ralf Kelleners also did a double in the Group C races in his Kremer 962 K6, but the second race had to be won the hard way after Justin Law blasted his Jaguar XJR10 up from the tail of the field. Law even deposed Kelleners for a while, but the German grabbed back the lead with a bold move.

Sid Hoole (T66) and Don Thallon (T53) took their Coopers to HGPCA pre-1966 wins, while Group 4 victories went to John Sheldon (Chevron B16) and Carlos Barbot (Lola T70).
