Oldtimer revamped

After a couple of years in the Doldrums, the AvD’s Oldtimer Grand Prix is back with a vengeance this season. In a bid to regain its place among the cream of classic race meetings, promoters of the 28th annual event have put together a programme of Europe’s best championships — headlined by the return of the FIA Thoroughbred Grand Prix series — on 4-6 August.

But the piece de resistance is the 10th Marathon, a 400km race for Pre-’65 Touring, GT and GTP cars on the 13-mile Nordschleife (concurrently with events on the GP track) on Friday afternoon. Up to 150 cars will be permitted to start. MP
