The new enlarged edition of Floyd Clymer’s Indianapolis Yearbook covering the 1963 race is off the press. This book has a 4-Colour process cover, front and back, and there are 246 large pages, which is 63 pages more than last year.

This is the largest and most complete book ever published on the history of any Indianapolis race, and there are over 600 photographs, charts and drawings covering every aspect of the event. There is a section on the activities every day during the month of May, and the “Race by the Clock” gives a minute-by-minute description of the action. There are photos of every car and driver, together with a history of both car and driver.

Several excellent technical articles by prominent authorities, together with an analysis of the entries: car construction, names and detail’s on the builders, including history, numbers and action around the Speedway are included. There is also an interesting analysis of the rear-engine Lotus-Ford, driven by Jim Clark into second place. This book is the only publication of its kind and of especial interest to English readers now that European cars are appearing at Indianapolis.

The price, post paid, is $4.00; or $6.00 for the de luxe edition with Fabrikoid binding. Immediate shipments are now being made by Floyd Clymer Publications, 22 N. Virgil Ave., Los Angeles 4, Calif., or the book can be ordered from Autobooks Ltd. or other specialist booksellers in this country. – W. B.

THE THINGS THEY SAY…

From a powerful article in The Sunday Express of June 28th – attacking the persecution of motorists under the Marples’ regime: “so long as Mr. Marples pursues his open vendetta against the motorist there are bound to be magistrates who respond to the cue. So long as he is allowed to treat car drivers as though they are criminals reprehensively on the loose, they cannot expect a fair deal from the courts.”
