“Paintwork came up in blisters after 16 months. One agent told me to polish the car in the sun and said this would cure the blisters. Independent body sprayer proved that the vehicle had been sprayed over rust. Supplier of car offered to respray at my expense!”

“Bodywork shocking. 100% build up and respray at 17,000 miles. Cost £24; Reasonable in circumstances but should have been unnecessary for comparatively new car.”

“Absolutely disgusting. Large patches of rust and bubbles in paintwork.”

“Poor – paint fell off within a few months of purchase – body will follow shortly.”

“Every imaginable fault – dullness, discoloration, rust, rattles, squeaks. Paint would be dull the day after it was polished when car was three months old. Eight separate complaints to garage, distributor and manufacturer failed to bring any result except the advice to use cutting compound.”

“All doors rattle, paintwork poor, windscreen leaks water.”

“Resprayed after three months because of undercoat showing through. All chrome replaced at the same time (all work free). After two years, both rear wheel arches rusted through despite being undersealed when new.”

“Has stood up to being outside in all weathers for approximately 90% of the time and being covered with a mixture of boiler-flue, smuts and beer for some hours far better than I thought possible.”
