The Alpine Rally

This year’s event proved exceptionally difficult and until the organisers decided to cancel the results of two of the timed sections no crews had retained a clean sheet, which is required to qualify for a Coupe des Alpes. After this only seven of the 55 entries won Alpine Cups, these being:
Consten/de Lageneste (Alfa Romeo Giulietta Zagato)
Clarou/Gele (Alfa Romeo Giulietta Berlina)
Riesa/Wenscher (Alfa Romeo Giulietta Berlina)
Balisst/Bertaut (Triumph TR3)
Harrison/Habershon (Ford Zephyr)
Harper/Jopp (Sunbeam Rapier)
Shepherd/Williamson (Austin-Healey Six)

Altogether 23 cars completed the whole Rally route, but the rest were all severely penalised.
