Correction

Sir,
I have been taking your excellent journal for some years now, and would at once congratulate you upon its make-up, contents and policies. I must say that I have always found you to be accurate in your reports, normally beyond reproach.

However, I must take you up on your report of the B.A.R.C. International Sports-Car Meeting held at Goodwood, printed on pages 385 and 386 of your July issue. Your account of the Ladies’ race (5-lap handicap) is excellent — but your result is wrong. Third place in this race was in fact taken by Mrs. Jean BIoxam in an Aston-Martin DB2, and not Betty Haig as shown in your result.

This might be regarded as a trivial matter, and nothing to make a fuss about, but as this was her first-ever race, handling what is certainly a handful for a person of her weight (just under 7 stone), I as her husband, thought that at least she should be recognised as having taken third place.

I am sure you will want to-correct this error, and in closing would again congratulate you on an excellent, and I am sure well-read, magazine.
