TEACHING THE YOUNG IDEA.
pROBA13LY the keeneit section of the motoring public is represented by schoolboys of all ages. With a view to fostering this interest in motoring, the Alvis Car and Engineering Company have hit upon the admirable scheme of entertain ing, once a year, a party of boys who form the Engineering Class from Uppingham School. The party were conducted all over the Works, and watched with great interest the gradual development of a batch of “Speed Twenty’s” through all the stages of their manufacture
from raw materials to the finished product.
They were then entertained to tea, and departed earnestly discussing the possibilities of persuading their respective fond parents to indulge in a “Speed Twenty” in time for the Summer Holidays.
