Claire Williams, daughter of the late Sir Frank Williams and former deputy team principal of her father’s Formula 1 team, has renewed her ties to the company – in a manner of speaking.

The 46-year-old stepped down from her Formula 1 team role in 2020 following Dorilton Capital’s buyout of Williams. Now she has accepted a position as brand ambassador for the technology offshoot WAE Technologies, formerly known as Williams Advanced Engineering. Dorilton has sold the company run by Craig Wilson to Fortescue, an Australia-based mining concern that is now investing in sustainable energy.

“What Craig and the team have achieved in a relatively short timeframe has been phenomenal, using race-bred technology to revolutionise industries across the world,” said Williams. “Sustainability has always been at the core of the business, and for me personally I am committed to maximising technology for the benefit of all to create a greener tomorrow.”
