eSkootr championship heads to London
They may be banned from all London roads (and the entire transport network) but in a wonderful twist of irony the new eSkootr racing championship will hold its first-ever competitive event in the UK capital.
A six-event calendar has been unveiled for the new series, with the first race set to take place in London on May 13/14 with a yet-to-be-confirmed street circuit layout. Quite where this track will be hasn’t been announced, nor has the number of races it will hold. The championship plans to run a series of heats, quarters- and semi-finals before holding a grand final race.
The new eSkootr Championship features up to 30 professional riders going head-to-head on all-electric two-wheelers capable of achieving speeds of up to 60mph. Following London, the series will visit Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain and the USA.
ESkootr Championship co-founder and CEO Hrag Sarkissian said, “This is a huge moment for eSC, and for sport, motor sport and the future growth of micro mobility. London, and the other cities that we will announce shortly, are all incredibly progressive, with an appreciation for the real world relevance eSC brings as they seek to address the implications of a rapidly changing mobility landscape.”
