This year’s Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace will feature a unique collection of Packard Twelves as its star attraction, having confirmed the machines will be shipped from America for display.

The Concours, this year held in the Palace grounds from September 2-4, has risen in prominence since its first event a decade ago, and will this year attract over 1000 of the finest vintage, luxury and rare cars for display.

The central feature this year will focus on American constructor Packard, which manufactured luxury cars from 1899-1956, with the 1930s Twelve being perhaps its finest example Belonging to a prominent American collection, The JBS Collection, this selection of Twelves is nicknamed ‘The Magnificent Seven’ and has undergone a 100-point restoration by specialist LaVine Restorations in the US and has never been displayed outside the country before.

Among the cars (ranging from 1933-28) are Coupés, Roadsters, Formal Sedans and the unique Twelve Victoria, which features a LeBaron body and a custom interior by Dietrich – as well as being the first Packard to be fitted with a radio by the factory. Perhaps the starring role goes to the 1936 All-Weather Cabriolet that was once owned by Charlie Chaplin and has featured in several Hollywood films, including The Godfather.
