GP festivities at Brands
The 50th anniversary of Brands Hatch’s first British GP (above) will be marked during the Masters Festival over the weekend of May 24/25, when the Masters FIA Historic Formula One Championship is joined by races for pre-66 cars from the Historic Grand Prix Cars Association.
In 1964, Jim Clark’s Lotus 25 won the first World Championship Grand Prix held at the Kent track. In May, Masters will organise a display of Brands Hatch Grand Prix-winning cars to celebrate the venue’s F1 history.
“With the HGPCA races we will be looking at the evolution of Grand Prix cars from the 1930s to the mid-1980s,” said Rachel Bailey from Masters.
