Longhorn Williams to return
A rare Longhorn Williams FW07, first built as an Indycar, will race with Grand Prix Masters this season if a current rebuild by Frank Lyons and his team goes to plan.
In 1979 Frank Williams sold rights to the FW07 design to the Longhorn Racing team in Texas and two cars were built for use in Indy racing. One was raced by Al Unser.
One of the chassis, which featured heavier gauge materials, was imported into the UK about 15 years ago, but has never yet raced in Europe.
Now Lyons is having the car rebuilt into Fl trim and hopes to race it later this season.
