After three editions at the spectacular Portimao circuit, the Algarve Historic Festival will switch venues in October to run further north at Estoril after financial issues between the venue and the event promoter went unresolved.

The Portimdo track was built at a cost of around £150 million and opened in October 2008. It quickly gained popularity, but the annual historic festival will not run there in 2012.

Event promoter Francisco Santos has confirmed that Estoril, home to the Portuguese Grand Prix from 1984 to 1996, is already booked for the October 18-21 event, which will include races for the Stirling Moss Trophy.
