A feature race into the evening on Saturday will be one of the highlights of the second Donington Historic Festival over the weekend of May 5/6.

The hour-long race for Pre-1972 sports-racing cars, which is part of the 1000km series, will start at 6.45pm and finish shortly before sunset. Other feature races for the second running of the event will be the opening rounds of the season for Group C, the E-type Challenge, Pre-63 GT cars and Historic F2.

The Group C cars have an hour-long race on Sunday afternoon. The ‘Mad Jack’ Trophy race for Pre-War sports cars will also be repeated. The race is in memory of Richard ‘Mad Jack’ Shuttleworth, winner of the first Donington Grand Prix in 1935.

Away from the racing, attractions include historic karts and car clubs. The organisers have structured the timetable to give a mix of qualifying and races on each day.
