Stoneman treated for cancer
FIA Formula 2 Champion Dean Stoneman’s career is on hold after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer.
The 20-year-old had been due to graduate to the Renault World Series with Czech ISR Racing. Specialists have told him the prognosis is good because the condition was detected early.
Stoneman said he was looking to “sporting heroes like Lance Armstrong for inspiration”. Cyclist Armstrong recovered from testicular cancer to win the Tour de France seven times.
