Gulf Astons due back at Le Mans

Two Gulf-liveried Aston Martin Racing coupés will return to the Le Mans 24 Hours in June. AMR has put together a programme comprising the Sebring and Long Beach American Le Mans Series races and the Spa round of the Le Mans Series in Europe ahead of the 24 Hours. Further races, almost certainly including the Silverstone 1000Kms in September, are expected to be added at a later date.

Adrian Fernández, Chris Buncombe and Harold Primat will drive a solo Lola-based AMR entry in the first three races, while factory drivers Darren Turner and Stefan Mücke will drive a second entry along with a so-far-undisclosed driver at Le Mans.

The two AMR entries have joined three-car squads from Peugeot and Audi on the 55-car Le Mans entry list.

A surprise return to La Sarthe is the Dome-Judd S102 that contested the race in 2008. It will be run in conjunction with the French OAK team, a regular in the LMP2 division.

The American Le Mans Series-winning Highcroft team will take in the 24 Hours for the first time. It is fielding an LMP2-spec HPD (née Acura) ARX-01c.
